Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) conducted the RO / ARO preliminary review yesterday, 27 November at test sites set up across the state. More than 3.85 lakh candidates were issued admission cards for examination, the exact detail of the registered attendance to the exam is still out. According to the preliminary reports, the review was carried out peacefully in all places.

UPPSC, the Commission issued an A-3 / E-1 / 2-16 on 27 September to fill some 361 posts (including 5 posts in arrears). These include the positions of Review Officer (Samiksha Adhikari) and Assistant Revision Officer (Sahayak Samiksha Adhikari). However, at the time of the examination, 46 posts were abolished by the Commission. Abolished vacancies include 30 posts in Uttar Pradesh Sachivalya (U.P. Secretariat) and 16 posts in UP Vidhan Parishad Sachivalaya (Secretariat of the U.P. Legislative Council). Requests for the Samiksha Adhikari and Sahayak Samiksha Adhikari posts were submitted from 27 September to 27 October 2016.

The selection process includes a preliminary review and a main review. Up to 3 85 191 candidates have been issued from admission cards for preliminary examination, this figure includes candidates who had given the examination in 2014. UPPSC had scheduled the preliminary examination in 827 centers in 21 districts and Candidates were notified of their respective examination by the admission card.

UPPSC RO / ARO prelims review consisted of 200 questions divided into two parts. Part 1 (General Studies) consisted of 140 questions, while Part 2 - General Hindi (General Vocabulary and Grammar) consisted of 60 questions. The preliminary review was conducted in two teams today; First pass from 9:30 to 11:30, followed by the second change from 14:30 to 15:30.
