According to highly placed police sources, Mr. Reddy is said to have struck a deal to pay Rs. 5 crore to the Anglo-Indian MLA, if he backed the TDP candidate in the polls.It is understood that the TDP legislator is believed to contacted a close aide of the nominated MLA to make a payment of Rs. 50 lakh.
Accordingly, the TDP MLA along with his close aide visited the residence of Mr. Stephenson in Lalaguda area when the ACB officials waiting there allegedly caught him with the cash.While the operation was successfully conducted, the police and the political parties were tight-lipped about the incident.
The incident sent shockwaves in the political circles and the TRS was quick to cash in on the development with Minister for Commercial Taxes Talasani Srinivas Yadav alleging that the TDP was morally depraved. “We never expected the TDP to stoop to such levels to bribe the nominated MLA, who is supporting us,” he said.Watch video here..
