Kanupapa Review / Kanupapa Movie Review : While being a criminal-emotional drama, "Kanupapa" somewhere forgets to be a thriller. Therefore, once the identity of the killer has been revealed, the scenario should have been more measured in terms of two elements: action and dialogues. Jayaram can be super-intelligent thanks to his extra-sensory powers, but would he have been found as someone without any trace of vulnerability? "Kanupapa", at a certain level, is a rejuvenated revenge story of the 90s. The pre-climax parties should have got the stuff right. For example, the character of the girlfriend (played by Anusree) should not have been dull.

Characterization of Samuthirakani is a weak point. His body language and disturbing appearance make him look like a professional killer rather than a solitary with a dying past. In some places, conversations between the main characters, whether between Nedumudi Venu and Mohanlal, Anusree and Mohanlal, or Baby Nandini and Mohanlal, lack either nativity, imagination, or both. Room) does not help the questions either.
A magnificent performance by Mohanlal covers these shortcomings. The complete actor returns with a superb action. Throughout the film, he never goes to guard by playing the role of blind person. Close to impeccable performance. The girl who played the kid is also brilliant.
The technical aspects shine. It is the camera angles that go the extra mile. The re-registration part adds a lot to many procedures. Director Priyadarshan well manages the suspense element despite the slow performance Mohanlal exceptional is the pillar of this crime thriller. Despite the shortcomings such as slow rhythm and artificial dialogue, his action makes Priyadarshan 'Kanupapa' a decent watch.
