In the latest in a string of intrusions into U.S. agencies’ high-tech systems, the Office of Personnel Management suffered what appeared to be one of the largest breaches of information ever on government workers. 


The office handles employee records and security clearances.US officials are only too aware of the real damage caused by such virtual threats. In the past year, a growing number of government agencies and companies - most notoriously Sony Pictures - have fallen victim to such attacks.

Susan Collins, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said the attack was thought to originate in China.The Chinese embassy in Washington warned against "jumping to conclusions".Courtsey by BBC -Video here..
